About Us
What is Christmas for Seniors?
Christmas For Seniors of Kern County provides low income, home bound and/or isolated seniors in the Kern region with gifts and necessities at Christmas time. This program is for low income, home bound and/or isolated seniors in our community. Those that are living on minimum SII, no additional pensions nor family financial help. The seniors have already been identified we just need "elves" to provide the gifts!
Each senior is asked to provide a list that contains one item ($20-25 range) they would like to have; such as a robe, slippers, sweatshirt, towels, etc. A gift card in the same amount for food or prescriptions at the location of their choice.
Ornaments go out to the community before Thanksgiving and are returned to the original location of pick up.
Wrapping, sorting and preparing are done daily.
Bakersfield Christmas for Seniors will be located at East Hills Mall on the Far East end near Sarah's. We are open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m to 6 p.m. Come spend the day or an hour or two. Bring the family, young and old. It will be one of the most rewarding projects you have ever volunteered to be a part of!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
